- Open Display Settings:
- Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
- Select Display settings.
- Adjust Resolution:
- In the Display settings menu, scroll down to the Scale & layout section.
- Under Display resolution, select the drop-down menu.
- Choose a new resolution from the list. It’s usually best to stick with the one that’s marked as (Recommended).
- Apply Changes:
- Click Keep changes to apply the new resolution.
Remember that monitors have native resolutions, and while they can support lower resolutions, text might not look as sharp or the display might be centered, edged with black, or stretched1. If you encounter unexpected changes in screen resolution, consider updating your graphics driver through Windows Update1.
